Serious and Atypical Presentations of Infection in Kidney Transplant Recipients.

This article describes 5 cases of bartonellosis with fever and atypical clinical presentations in kidney transplant recipients: thrombotic microangiopathies, recurrent hemophagocytosis, and immune reconstitution syndrome after treatment. The diagnosis, the pathological lesions, and treatments are described. Bartonellosis must be researched in solid organ transplant recipients with fever of undetermined origin.

[Five-word test: insufficiently sensitive but very specific for organic memory disorders].

Objectives: The "five-word test', derived from the Grober and Buschke test, is an easy and rapid tool to distinguish between organic disorders of memory encoding and apparent memory deficits due to inefficient information retrieval strategies. Its metrological characteristics require specification.

Methods: Subjects were classified as demented or non-demented according to DSM IV and NINCDS-ARDA criteria after a dementia assessment and a neuropsychological assessment.

Clinostatic syndrome in Waldenström macroglobulinemia.

We report a case of Waldenström macroglobulinemia revealed by clinostatic syndrome in an 81-year-old woman. A lytic lesion was found in the ilium and acetabulum. There was no evidence of transformation to high-grade lymphoma.
