Living donor kidney transplantation boasts superior patient and graft survival rates compared to deceased donor kidney transplantation. However, the impact of living donor body composition (BC) on post-transplant kidney function remains uncertain. In a cohort of 293 living kidney donor-recipients pairs, we utilized linear mixed model analyses, adjusted for time and including a multiplicative interaction term of time with the donor body composition measure, and found no significant associations between any donor BC measure and the annual change in recipient post-transplantation estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) [donor body mass index (BMI): =-0.

Although most patients with pulmonary carcinoid (PC) can be cured by surgery, relapse may occur until 15 years after resection in up to 10% of patients. This is unpredictable at the outset, necessitating extensive follow-up (FU). We sought to determine whether an immunohistochemical marker panel (OTP, CD44, and Ki-67) could better indicate relapse-free survival (RFS) and increase uniformity among pathologists regarding carcinoid classification.

Introduction: Multi-omic studies have identified three molecular separated pulmonary carcinoid (PC) subgroups (A1, A2, B) with distinctive mRNA expression profiles (e.g., orthopedia homeobox protein [OTP], achaete-scute homolog [ASCL1], and hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 homeobox A [HNF1A]).

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected child and adolescent mental health and at the end of the pandemic (April 2022) child mental health had not returned to pre-pandemic levels. We investigated whether this observed increase in mental health problems has continued, halted, or reversed after the end of the pandemic in children from the general population and in children in psychiatric care.

Methods: We collected parent-reported and child-reported data at two additional post-pandemic time points (November/December 2022 and March/April 2023) in children (8-18 years) from two general population samples ( = 818-1056 per measurement) and one clinical sample receiving psychiatric care ( = 320-370) and compared these with data from before the pandemic.

Purpose: Identifying outcome measurements instruments (OMIs) to evaluate treatment efficacy in patients with vocal fold atrophy and/or sulcus.

Methods: Systematic review of records published before March 2021 by searching Pubmed and EMBASE. Included studies reported on adults (> 18 year) with dysphonia caused by glottic insufficiency due to vocal fold atrophy with or without sulcus, who were enrolled into a randomized controlled trial, a non-randomized controlled trial, a case-controlled study or a cohort study.
