Opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients can present a diagnostic challenge. This case report describes multiple pulmonary infections-Pneumocystic jirovecii, Histoplasma capsulatum, and cytomegalovirus-in an HIV-positive patient. The morphological findings are described, and the importance of cytology for the rapid diagnosis of these infections is highlighted.

Background: High-risk human papilloma virus (HR HPV) testing and liquid-based cytology are used for primary cervical screening. Digital cytology, based on whole-slide scanned samples, is a promising technique for teaching and diagnostic purposes. Fibroepithelial lesions (FL) of the breast, in particular, phyllodes tumors (PT) and fibroadenomas, pose a significant diagnostic challenge. There are no generally accepted criteria that distinguish benign, borderline, malignant PT and fibroadenomas.
