Effective interprofessional team function is integral to high-quality care in the intensive care unit (ICU). However, little is known about how familiarity develops among teams, which may be an important antecedent to effective team function and quality care. Importance: Tubal sterilization is common, especially among individuals with low income. There is substantial misunderstanding about sterilization among those who have undergone the procedure, suggesting suboptimal decision-making about a method that permanently ends reproductive capacity.
