Effects of in situ experimental warming on metabolic expression in a soft sediment bivalve.

Ocean surface temperatures and the frequency and intensity of marine heatwaves are increasing worldwide. Understanding how marine organisms respond and adapt to heat pulses and the rapidly changing climate is crucial for predicting responses of valued species and ecosystems to global warming. Here, we carried out an in situ experiment to investigate sublethal responses to heat spikes of a functionally important intertidal bivalve, the venerid clam Austrovenus stutchburyi.

Immunotherapy for leptomeningeal disease from solid tumors: current clinical outcomes and future opportunities.

Leptomeningeal disease is a debilitating, late-stage form of metastatic cancer disseminated within the cerebrospinal fluid, subarachnoid space, and leptomeninges, leading to significant neurological morbidity and mortality. As systemic cancer treatments improve, rates of leptomeningeal disease have increased, yet prognosis remains exceedingly poor. A wide range of treatment modalities have been trialed; however, no standard of care has been established.

Living and Researching the COVID-19 Pandemic: Autoethnographic Reflections from a Co-Research Team of Older People and Academics.

This article describes and reflects upon the work of a co-research team on the Healthy Ageing in Scotland (HAGIS) 'COVID-19 Impact and Recovery' study (January 2021 to November 2022). The co-research team (seven older adults and three academics) was constituted near the start of this project; the team contributed to the development of recruitment materials and research tools and undertook qualitative research and analysis with older adults living across Scotland. This article provides a collaborative autoethnography about the activities undertaken by the team, the impact of the co-research process on the individuals involved, and the research findings and reflects the realities of co-research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The TELEhealth Shared decision-making COaching and navigation in Primary carE (TELESCOPE) intervention: a study protocol for delivering shared decision-making for lung cancer screening by patient navigators.

Background: Lung cancer screening (LCS) can reduce lung cancer mortality but has potential harms for patients. A shared decision-making (SDM) conversation about LCS is required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for LCS reimbursement. To overcome barriers to SDM in primary care, this protocol describes a telehealth decision coaching and navigation intervention for LCS in primary care clinics delivered by patient navigators.
