Background: Water immersion during labour and birth is increasingly popular and is becoming widely accepted across many countries, and particularly in midwifery-led care settings. However, there are concerns around neonatal water inhalation, increased requirement for admission to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), maternal and/or neonatal infection, and obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS). This is an update of a review last published in 2011.

Reconstitution of Phospholipase A2-Dependent Golgi Membrane Tubules.

The Golgi complex is the Grand Central Station of intracellular membrane trafficking in the secretory and endocytic pathways. Anterograde and retrograde export of cargo from the Golgi complex involves a complex interplay between the formation of coated vesicles and membrane tubules, although much less is known about tubule-mediated trafficking. Recent advances using in vitro assays have identified several cytoplasmic phospholipase A2 (PLA2) enzymes that are required for the biogenesis of membrane tubules and their roles in the functional organization of the Golgi complex.

Evaluating a Midwife-Led Model of Antenatal Care for Women with a Previous Cesarean Section: A Retrospective, Comparative Cohort Study.

Background: Research is yet to identify effective and safe interventions to increase the vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) rate. This research aimed to compare intended and actual VBAC rates before and after implementation of midwife-led antenatal care for women with one previous cesarean birth and no other risk factors in a large, tertiary maternity hospital in England.

Methods: This was a retrospective, comparative cohort study.

There are disproportionately fewer studies examining the role of the father in the development of child and adolescent psychopathology. This is pertinent in the field of eating disorders, where there is a wealth of research related to family influences and the value of family-based interventions. This article reviews the key themes within the literature around the potential impact of the father-child relationship on the development and maintenance of Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa in young people.
