Objective: The objective of the present study was to compare the incidence of complications at the access site after percutaneous brachial access (PBA) and open brachial access (OBA) in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease.

Methods: From November 2016 to November 2021, all patients who had undergone peripheral artery revascularization with brachial access were included. The primary outcome was the 30-day rate of postoperative complications at the access site.

Post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF) defined as a new-onset of atrial fibrillation (AF) following surgery occurs frequently after cardiac surgery. For non-symptomatic patients, rate control strategy seems to be as effective as rhythm control one in surgical patients. Landiolol is a new highly cardio-selective beta-blocker agent with interesting pharmacological properties that may have some interest in this clinical situation.
