Context: The impact of forced migration on the mental health of refugee men is far-reaching and compounded by gendered masculinity, which shapes men's access to employment and other resources. A gap in knowledge exists on the broader determinants of refugee men's mental health.

Methodology: Using community-based participatory action research and the arts-based method of photovoice, this study advances knowledge about the gendered impacts of forced migration from the perspective of ( = 11) Syrian refugee men in the Canadian context.

The subcortical visual pathway to the amygdala has long been considered a rapid and crude stream for processing emotionally salient information that is reliant on low spatial frequency (LSF) information. Recently, research has called this LSF dependency into question. To resolve this debate, we take advantage of an anatomical hemiretinal asymmetry, whereby the nasal hemiretina sends a higher proportion of information through the subcortical pathway than the temporal hemiretina.

Wind affects the movement of most volant insects. While the effects of wind on dispersal are relatively well understood at the population level, how wind influences the movement parameters of individual insects in the wild is less clear. Tephritid fruit flies, such as Bactrocera jarvisi, are major horticultural pests worldwide and while most tephritids are nondispersive when host plants are plentiful, records exist for potentially wind-assisted movements up to 200 km.

Mutations in genes involved in DNA damage repair (DDR) often lead to premature aging syndromes. While recent evidence suggests that inflammation, alongside mutation accumulation and cell death, may drive disease phenotypes, its precise contribution to pathophysiology remains unclear. Here, by modeling Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) and Bloom Syndrome in the African turquoise killifish ( ), we replicate key phenotypes of DDR syndromes, including infertility, cytoplasmic DNA fragments, and reduced lifespan.
