To compare the effect of moderate-intensity aquatic treadmill exercise (ATM) on cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cognitive function in healthy older adults to that of moderate-intensity land-based treadmill exercise (LTM). This randomized controlled trial study was conducted between May 2023 and Oct 2023. Twenty-eight participants aged 60-80 were randomly assigned to either ATM group (N = 14) or LTM group (N = 14).

Mammary adipocytes promote breast tumor cell invasion and angiogenesis in the context of menopause and obesity.

The mechanism(s) underlying obesity-related postmenopausal (PM) breast cancer (BC) are not clearly understood. We hypothesized that the increased local presence of 'obese' mammary adipocytes within the BC microenvironment promotes the acquisition of an invasive and angiogenic BC cell phenotype and accelerates tumor proliferation and progression. BC cells, treated with primary mammary adipocyte secretome from premenopausal (Pre-M) and PM obese women (ObAdCM; obese adipocyte conditioned-media) upregulated the expression of several pro-tumorigenic factors including VEGF, lipocalin-2 and IL-6.

Effects of gender affirming hormone treatment in transgender individuals - a retrospective cohort study.

Purpose: Gender affirming hormone treatment (GAHT) results in measurable changes to anthropomorphic, biochemical and hormonal variables that are important to patients and their health care professionals to guide treatment. This study sought to quantify changes which occur in response to initiation of GAHT.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study of outcomes in transgender and gender diverse (TGD) patients starting GAHT.
