Bragg diffracted intensities and values for crystalline structures with long repeat distances may be obtained by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) investigations. An account is given of the methods, advantages and disadvantages of obtaining such data by the multichromatic time-of-flight method, compared with the more traditional quasi-monochromatic SANS method. This is illustrated with data obtained from high-magnetic-field measurements on magnetic vortex line lattices in superconductors on the former HFM/EXED instrument at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.

Pruritus is a frequent symptom in systemic sclerosis (SSc), with a prevalence of 40-65%, but its pathophysiology is poorly understood. This study investigated the immunological component of pruritus. Fifty-six patients with SSc responded to a standardized questionnaire regarding both SSc disease and pruritus characteristics.

Arabidopsis AtGH9C1 is an endo-β-1,4-glucanase possessing a carbohydrate-binding domain (CBM49). Analysis of AtGH9C1 expression by promoter-reporter GUS, RT-PCR, public transcriptome databases and GFP protein tagging demonstrated a high and selective expression of AtGH9C1 in root hairs and in the endosperm. Expression in root hair cells started prior to bulge formation and continued during hair elongation.
