Efficacy and safety of bexarotene combined with photo(chemo)therapy for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a chronic condition with low malignancy. International treatment guidelines for CTCL are widely followed in Europe and the USA. Combination therapy with therapeutic agents for CTCL and phototherapy is effective on the basis of European data.

Paediatric Physiotherapy curriculum: an audit and survey of Australian entry-level Physiotherapy programs.

Background: No documented standard or core competencies exist for paediatric curriculum in entry-level physiotherapy programs in Australia. Consequently, extensive variability is thought to exist amongst Australian entry-level physiotherapy programs for preparing physiotherapists to work safely and effectively with children. The purpose of this study was to explore the landscape of paediatric curriculum in Australian entry-level physiotherapy programs and identify the paediatric content being covered, its perceived importance according to university academics who teach paediatrics, the mode of delivery and assessment, and the strengths, weaknesses, barriers and facilitators to implementing paediatric curriculum.

Artificial vision by direct optic nerve electrode (AV-DONE) implantation in a blind patient with retinitis pigmentosa.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of artificial vision by using a direct optic nerve electrode (AV-DONE) in a blind patient with retinitis pigmentosa (RP). This device, comprising three wire electrodes (0.05 mm in diameter), was implanted into the optic disc of a patient with RP with no light perception vision and the device was left implanted.

Pancreas transplantation alone in children: a case report.

Pancreas transplantation (PT) is a relatively uncommon therapy for non-uremic type 1 diabetes, as the severity of diabetes must warrant the risk of immunosuppression. In pediatric diabetic patients, who are less likely to display uremia because of the duration of diabetes, there is very little experience with pancreas transplantation alone (PTA). This report describes a 13-yr-old male PTA recipient.
