Serum hepcidin evaluation as a promising biomarker in juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Objectives: An important area of research in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) aims to identify sensitive and reliable biomarkers of disease activity. The key iron-regulatory hormone hepcidin-25 (HEP) has been advocated as a potential biomarker to assess anaemia of chronic disease and iron deficiency in adults with rheumatoid arthritis.

Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study evaluating the utility of serum HEP in 79 non-systemic onset JIA patients (14 males, 65 females), with/without anaemia, determining its correlations with disease activity, assessed by the JIA Disease Activity Score (JADAS)-27, anaemia parameters, and iron status indices.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography-Assisted Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy in a Hybrid Operating Room: Optimization of Patient Selection.

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) enables intraoperative cross-sectional and three-dimensional imaging of the urinary tract. CBCT in a hybrid operating room can be used for intraoperative detection of residual stones and potential additional stone extraction at the end of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). This study describes our initial experience with intraoperative CBCT during PCNL and analyzes its role in potentially improving its outcomes.

The significance of clinically insignificant residual fragments after percutaneous nephrolithotomy: an analysis into the relevance of complete stone clearance.

Purpose: After treatment for kidney stones, residual fragments with a diameter of ≤ 4 mm are traditionally referred to as 'clinically insignificant residual fragments'. We hypothesize that patients with these fragments are at an increased risk for stone-related morbidity, such as complaints, hydronephrosis, and stone regrowth, when compared to stone-free patients. This study aimed to investigate the relevance of complete stone clearance in surgical treatment of urolithiasis.

Objective: The potential association between influenza vaccination and SARS-CoV-2 infection and related outcomes is still controversial. The aim of this umbrella review is to represent the impact of previous influenza vaccination and COVID-19 outcomes using evidence currently available in literature.

Methods: A literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science and Cochrane Library was conducted.
