Women are known to have twice as much lifetime prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as men do. It has been reported that the risk genotype (CC) of a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) (rs2267735) in the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP-PAC1R) system is associated with PTSD risk and altered fear conditioning and fear extinction in women. Surprisingly, no previous work has studied the effect of this SNP on fear conditioning, extinction, or generalization in non-traumatized/low trauma load women.

The consumption of prey intestines and their content, known as gastrophagy, is well-documented among Arctic Indigenous peoples, particularly Inuit. In Greenland, Inuit consume intestines from various animals, including the ptarmigan, a small herbivorous grouse bird. While gastrophagy provides the potential to transfer a large number of intestinal microorganisms from prey to predator, including to the human gut, its microbial implications remain to be investigated.

We derive several versions of the cell theory for a crystal phase of hard equilateral triangles. To that purpose we analytically calculated the free area of a frozen oriented or freely rotating particle inside the cavity formed by its neighbors in a chiral configuration of their orientations. From the most successful versions of the theory we predict an equation of state which, despite being derived from a crystal configuration of particles, describes very reasonably the equation of state of the 6-atic liquid-crystal phase at packing fractions not very close from the isotropic-6-atic bifurcation.
