The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of linear sprint training (LST) compared to curvilinear sprint training (CST) using an equivalent session training volume, on linear (LS) and curvilinear (CS) sprint performance, horizontal force-velocity profile, and change of direction (COD) ability in young soccer players. In a randomized pre-post parallel-group trial design, nineteen U16 male soccer players were randomly assigned to LST (n = 9) and CST (n = 10) groups. Both groups performed 11 sprint training sessions over 6 weeks.

Prompt diagnosis of preeclampsia is key to ensure appropriate management and reduce associated adverse outcomes. Placental growth factor (PlGF)-based biomarkers have been shown to be safe and effective diagnostic tools for preterm preeclampsia, and their use is recommended by most recent Canadian guidelines. The present report summarizes an expert panel discussion that led to the development of a proposed utilization algorithm for PlGF-based diagnostic testing for suspected preeclampsia in Québec.

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) is an important crop for the future challenges of food and nutrient security. Deep characterization of quinoa diversity is needed to support the agronomic improvement and adaptation of quinoa as its worldwide cultivation expands. In this study, we report the construction of chromosome-scale genome assemblies of eight quinoa accessions covering the range of phenotypic and genetic diversity of both lowland and highland quinoas.
