Psychosocial experience of the Covid-19 crisis among people who use or inject drugs in Algeria: A community-based qualitative study.

The COVID-19 crisis had a global impact and many marginalised groups, such as people who use or inject drugs, are more vulnerable to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its consequences due to their pre-existing health inequalities. Moreover, people who use/inject drugs are also criminalised in some countries such as Algeria. This analysis aimed to explore the psychosocial experience of the COVID-19 crisis among people who use/inject drugs in Algeria.

Inhibition of IL-11 signalling extends mammalian healthspan and lifespan.

For healthspan and lifespan, ERK, AMPK and mTORC1 represent critical pathways and inflammation is a centrally important hallmark. Here we examined whether IL-11, a pro-inflammatory cytokine of the IL-6 family, has a negative effect on age-associated disease and lifespan. As mice age, IL-11 is upregulated across cell types and tissues to regulate an ERK-AMPK-mTORC1 axis to modulate cellular, tissue- and organismal-level ageing pathologies.

4-Nitrochalcone as a potential drug in non-clinical breast cancer studies.

Breast cancer is a high-magnitude public health problem, continually challenging physicians and scientists worldwide in the field of drug therapy. 4-nitrochalcone (4NC) is a phenolic compound that has promising antitumor activity in vitro, but its application in breast cancer treatment is still poorly explored. This study aimed to evaluate the action of 4NC in vitro and in vivo breast cancer models.

A critical appraisal of emergency resuscitative thoracotomy in a Western European level 1 trauma centre: a 13-year experience.

Emergency Resuscitative Thoracotomy (ERT) is a lifesaving procedure in selected patients. Outcome mostly in blunt trauma is believed to be poor. The primary aim of this study was to determine the predictors of postoperative mortality following ERT.
