Background: This article is the third in a commissioned series on paediatric orthopaedics. Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) encompasses the pathological spectrum of hip instability that produces subluxation or dislocation and radiological features of abnormal acetabular development. It is important to approach DDH with sound prior knowledge to recognise, diagnose and manage its variety of presentations.

Background: Idiopathic rotational abnormalities of the lower limb have been studied extensively in children through to adulthood, but there remains concern among parents and the community whether a normal variant is pathological.

Objective: The aim of this article is to draw attention to deformities in the transverse plane and to highlight the variation in normal over time, and according to sex.

Discussion: Rotational malalignment of the lower limb can be a rare cause of pain in the hip, knee, ankle and foot.

The nature of sexual assault on men and their help seeking following the assault was investigated. All men were seen at least once for face-to-face counseling at SURVIVORS, a counseling service for male victims. Data on 115 men were analyzed: 69 were assaulted while under age 16.
