Introduction: We present the case of a diabetic patient on treatment with acarbose who had presented a sigmoid volvulus with localized cystic pneumatosis of the sigmoid colon.

Case Report: A 72-year-old patient with a medical history of atrial fibrillation, DNID in treatment since 10 years by acarbose. The patient was admitted to the emergency for abdominal pain and occlusive syndrome since 48 h without fever or nausea or vomiting.

Background: Several multicenter randomized controlled trials comparing laparoscopy and conventional open surgery for colon cancer have demonstrated that laparoscopic approach achieved the same oncological results while improving significantly early postoperative outcomes. These trials included few elderly patients, with a median age not exceeding 71 years. However, colon cancer is a disease of the elderly.

The purpose of this report is to describe a new case of primary malignant melanoma of the esophagus (PMME) and to review the recent literature. A 75-year-old man underwent an esophagoscopy for a 3-month history of dysphagia and weight loss. A pigmented polypoïd mass in the lower third of esophagus was discovered, identified by biopsy as a malignant melanoma.
