Objectives: This study aimed to assess frequency of association between hepatic steatosis and pancreatic steatosis in obese children and find out common chains of pathogenesis.

Methods: This study was conducted among 100 children aged 12-17 years, consisted 2 groups: 60 overweight children (BMI from 30,1 to 42,87-1st group) and 40 children with normal BMI (2nd group). Diagnosis of the hepatic steatosis and pancreatic steatosis was based on sonographic findings.

An opinion on the expediency of working out criteria for dividing acute dysentery patients into risk groups, depending on the development of immune deficiency, has been put forward. The results of the study of some characteristics of T-cell immunity system in 228 acute dysentery patients in relation to their clinical state are presented. Measurements of total active T lymphocytes, T helpers and T suppressors have been made.

Some immunity indices were studied in patients with acute dysentery. The number of total and active T-lymphocytes, T mu- and T gamma-cells, T-rabbit, T-staphylococcal, B-total and B-lymphocytes forming rosettes with mouse erythrocytes were determined for assessment of the immune status. Changes in the above indices with relation to the severity of the disease were noted.
