The lack of comprehensive diagnostics and consensus analytical models for evaluating the status of a patient's immune system has hindered a wider adoption of immunoprofiling for treatment monitoring and response prediction in cancer patients. To address this unmet need, we developed an immunoprofiling platform that uses multiparameter flow cytometry to characterize immune cell heterogeneity in the peripheral blood of healthy donors and patients with advanced cancers. Using unsupervised clustering, we identified five immunotypes with unique distributions of different cell types and gene expression profiles.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition which is defined by decreased social communication and the presence of repetitive or stereotypic behaviors. Recent evidence has suggested that the gut-brain axis may be important in neurodevelopment in general and may play a role in ASD in particular. Here, we present a study of the gut microbiome in 96 individuals diagnosed with ASD in Israel, compared to 42 neurotypical individuals.

Article Synopsis
  • A new data-driven approach is transforming materials discovery by focusing on nonlinear optical (NLO) materials suitable for deep-ultraviolet (UV) applications, crucial for advancing laser technologies.
  • The proposed target-driven materials design framework integrates high-throughput calculations, crystal structure prediction, and interpretable machine learning to expedite the identification of these materials.
  • By developing a machine learning model that predicts birefringence based solely on crystal structures, researchers can efficiently screen for stable compounds with promising NLO properties, identifying eight potential candidates for deep-UV applications.

Probiotic fermented foods are perceived as contributing to human health; however, solid evidence for their presumptive therapeutic systemic benefits is generally lacking. Here we report that tryptophol acetate and tyrosol acetate, small-molecule metabolites secreted by the probiotic milk-fermented yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus, inhibit hyperinflammation (e.g.

Traditional infrared (IR) nonlinear optical (NLO) materials such as AgGaS are crucial to key devices for solid-state lasers, however, low laser damage thresholds intrinsically hinder their practical application. Here, a robust strategy is proposed for unbiased high-throughput screening of more than 140 000 materials to explore novel IR NLO materials with high thermal conductivity and wide band gap which are crucial to intrinsic laser damage threshold. Via our strategy, 106 compounds with desired band gaps, NLO coefficients and thermal conductivity are screened out, including 8 nitrides, 68 chalcogenides, in which Sr SnS is synthesized to verify the reliability of our process.
