[On developing the indicators of tuberculosis mortality in Russia].

In two subjects of the Russian Federation, the Orlovskaya and Tulskaya Oblast, on the basis of the study of 303 death cases of tuberculosis patients died in 2006, it is established that the actual system of collecting and processing statistic data does not provide the validity of tuberculosis mortality indicators. The most part of errors is explained by the erroneous selection and coding of initial causes of death. The directions of enhancing the validity of mortality indicators at the expense of continuous education of physicians to apply ICD-10 and the implementation of new technologies (software package ?Natality and mortality monitoring? and educational computer program "RUTENDON").

[On the mistakes during the completion of the medical certificate of death].

[System of measures enhancing reliability of population mortality statistics].

Means enhancing reliability of population mortality statistics are discussed. It is proposed to develop system of measures including continuous training in proper filling of medical death certificate, application of learning computer system "RUTENDON". Focus is made upon integrated software "Morbidity monitoring" to provide automotive choosing and coding of causes of death.

Comparative assessment of different methods of reflexotherapy - RT (acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture and the termopuncture) in treatment of ischemic angiopathies of the lower extremities is presented. One hundred and twenty-four patients with ischemic angiopathies were treated, 86 of them had I - II stage of the disease, 38 - III stage. Diagnosis of the disease and assessment of treatment efficacy were based on clinical, laboratory and special instrumental examinations.

The authors discuss changes in the priority trends in population health protection in Russia; these changes are due to gradual replacement of infectious diseases by chronic ones, which are mainly responsible for morbidity and mortality. The socioeconomic crisis of the beginning of the 90's involved a deterioration of medical care of the population, which led to increase of mortality caused by chronic diseases, primarily by diseases of the circulatory system. Using the regression methods, the authors analyze the relationships between the expected life span, mortality because of diseases of circulation, malignant tumors, and traumas, and the medical care of the population, including the specialized care.
