Preleukemic stem cells (PSC) containing preleukemic fusion genes (PFG) arise prenatally and represent the initial stage of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) development. Despite widespread efforts, the cell of origin of PFG is still unclear. For the first time, in order to identify the immunophenotype of the PSCs, different subpopulations of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC) of umbilical cord blood (UCB) from ALL pediatric patients and control healthy children were sorted and analyzed for the presence of diagnostically-relevant PFGs by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH).

Cytogenetic biodosimetry relies on dose-response curves (DRCs) for each type of radiation that can cause a radiation emergency. We have constructed a DRC based on the dicentric assay. Blood samples from four healthy volunteers were irradiated with acute 6 MV linac photons, 0.

Article Synopsis
  • - Stiff-person syndrome (SPS) is a rare disorder affecting the central nervous system, causing muscle rigidity and painful spasms in response to external stimuli.
  • - The disease shows a wide range of symptoms, making it hard to diagnose and treat, which can lead to increased disability.
  • - Two case examples illustrate this complexity: one with classic SPS symptoms and another with a focal form called stiff leg syndrome, both presenting atypical features that complicated diagnosis.

Cancer immunotherapy has evolved significantly over the last decade, with therapeutics targeting the adaptive immune system showing exciting effects in clinics. Yet, the modulation of the innate immune system, particularly the tumor-associated innate immune cells which are an integral part of immune responses in cancer, remains less understood. The arginase 1 (Arg1) pathway is a pivotal metabolic pathway that tumor-associated innate immune cells exploit to create an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, leading to the evasion of immune surveillance.

The dataset consists of records from the NTFS file system and event logs. In this study, we used images of devices from capture the flags competitions focused on the digital forensic of Windows operating systems and user activities. We created timelines of the security incident from the disk images using the Plaso tool, which we then processed and transformed the attributes of the timelines into binary values to simplify the application of data analysis and machine learning methods.
