Continuous monitoring of high-risk neonates is essential for the timely management of medical conditions. However, the current reliance on wearable or contact sensor technologies for vital sign monitoring often leads to complications including discomfort, skin damage, and infections which can impede medical management, nursing care, and parental bonding. Moreover, the dependence on multiple devices is problematic since they are not interconnected or time-synchronized, use a variety of different wires and probes/sensors, and are designed based on adult specifications.

Article Synopsis
  • Accessible contraception is crucial for women's health, but in the UK, only 55% of pregnancies are planned, with lower usage among ethnic minority women due to barriers like inadequate information and concerns about side effects.
  • A systematic review of studies on ethnic minority women's experiences with contraception revealed four main themes: contraceptive knowledge, beliefs, family influence, and healthcare services.
  • Findings indicate that ethnic minority women share common concerns about side effects, prefer female healthcare providers, and encounter unique challenges, emphasizing the need for culturally sensitive healthcare and better understanding of hormonal hesitancy.

The Good Behavior Game (GBG) is an effective procedure for reducing disruptive classroom behavior. Students in three fifth-grade classes selected the rules of the GBG and then experienced the GBG with different forms of feedback for rule violations (vocal and visual, vocal only, visual only, no feedback). Following an initial baseline, the four feedback versions of the GBG and a baseline condition were alternated across sessions in a multielement design.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe ocular blood flow changes in eyes affected by a carotid-cavernous fistula (CCF) using laser speckle flowgraphy. We hypothesized that imaging blood flow velocity waveforms in the retinal arterioles and venules simultaneously would reveal specific characteristics of an arteriovenous (AV) connection.

Design: The study was an observational case series, with a retrospective case-control analysis.

Background: Although underserved populations- including those from ethnic minority communities and those living in poverty-have worse health and poorer healthcare experiences, most primary care research does not fairly reflect these groups. Patient and public involvement (PPI) is usually embedded within research studies in the United Kingdom (UK), but often fails to represent underserved populations. This study worked with patient and public contributors and local community leaders, situated in a socio-economically deprived and ethnically diverse urban area, to explore under-representation in primary healthcare research.
