[A contact-free method for computerized functional assessment of mandibular movements].

A specialized computer system for real-time study of some dynamic characteristics of the maxillodental system has been designed. The system consists of a TV unit compatible to IBM PC/AT and software. The method of non cintact recording of dynamic characteristics of the mandible permits, among other things, measurements and comparison of mandibular movements before and after orthodontic treatment and, hence, may be used for assessing the results of occlusion correction.
