Two-Year Efficacy and Safety Outcomes of the Pivotal OASIS Study Using the Revi System for Treatment of Urgency Urinary Incontinence.

Purpose: The BlueWind Medical Device, Revi, is a novel implantable tibial neuromodulation system powered by an external, battery-operated wearable that facilitates individually tailored stimulation to provide treatment for urgency urinary incontinence (ie, overactive bladder wet). The Revi System is the first Food and Drug Administration-cleared implantable neuromodulation device which can be used without prior failure with more conservative treatment options. Two-year follow-up results of the OASIS study are presented.

Geriatric drug delivery - barriers, current technologies and the road ahead.

The geriatric population encompasses the largest part of the health care system worldwide. Chronic medical conditions are highly prevalent in the elderly, consequently, due to their complex health needs, there is a significant rate of multi-drug therapy. Despite the high numbers of medications prescribed, geriatric patients face several barriers when it comes to successful drug delivery including alterations in cognitive and physical function.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome After SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

Importance: Chronic symptoms reported following an infection with SARS-CoV-2, such as cognitive problems, overlap with symptoms included in the definition of myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).

Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of ME/CFS-like illness subsequent to acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, changes in ME/CFS symptoms through 12 months of follow-up, and the association of ME/CFS symptoms with SARS-CoV-2 test results at the acute infection-like index illness.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This prospective, multisite, longitudinal cohort study (Innovative Support for Patients with SARS-CoV-2 Infections Registry [INSPIRE]) enrolled participants from December 11, 2020, to August 29, 2022.

Operation Allies Welcome Medical Response Unit at Philadelphia International Airport: A Framework for Medical Triage of High Volume of Displaced Persons Arriving by Air.

In the aftermath of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, over 100,000 individuals were evacuated to the United States, primarily arriving through Philadelphia International Airport and Dulles International Airport under Operation Allies Welcome. In Philadelphia, evacuees were greeted at the airport by a medical triage unit (MTU) that was rapidly assembled to provide on-site medical care. The MTU triaged emergent medical complaints, handled minor complaints on-site to reduce impact on local health care systems, distributed patients who did require a higher level of care among area hospitals, and ensured appropriate follow-up care for individuals with ongoing needs.
