An 11-year-old girl presented with abnormal weight gain and was found to have hepatomegaly. MRI of the abdomen revealed a 20-cm hepatic mass. F-FDG PET/CT showed a large hypermetabolic calcified hepatic mass and couple of mildly hypermetabolic pulmonary nodules with associated intrathoracic lymphadenopathy.

Review of the literature reveals five cases of inflammatory pseudotumor involving the heart, but no cases have been reported in the radiology literature.

Mucormycosis is an uncommon and frequently fatal fungal infection. It characteristically affects patients with diabetes mellitus or patients with severe immunosuppression. The hallmark of mucormycosis infection is tissue infarction and vascular invasion.
