Introduction: The persistence of in the contaminated environment is sustained by tolerance to biocides and ability to growth as biofilm. The aim of the study was to analyze the susceptibility of biofilms to chlorhexidine (CHX) and benzalkonium (BZK) biocides and the ability of natural monomeric stilbenoid resveratrol (RV) to modulate the phenomenon.
Methods: Biofilm formation and preformed biofilm were tested by Crystal violet and tetrazolium salt reduction assay, respectively.
This study presents the first in vivo measurement of transcytolemmal water exchange in the brain using a novel Magnetic Resonance technique. We extend previous applications of Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) to examine water exchange across cellular membranes in late-stage chicken embryo brains. The immature blood-brain barrier at this stage allows Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents (GBCAs) to penetrate the brain's interstitial space, sensitizing the CEST effect to water exchange between intra- and extracellular environments.

Methods: This study utilized a case study design, and was conducted in the Division of City Schools of Navotas.
Introduction: Antimicrobial-resistant pathogens are an ongoing threat to human and animal health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), colistin is considered the last resort antibiotic against human infections due to multidrug-resistant Gram-negative organisms-including , a priority-1 pathogen. Despite colistin being considered a last resort antibiotic, transferable bacterial resistance to this drug has been reported in humans and animals.

These conditions are associated with increased autophagy and apoptosis in the muscle cells, resulting in decreased muscle mass. Physical exercise associated with photobiomodulation (PBM) seems promising to attenuate the skeletal muscle changes caused by HF and DM2, due to its direct effects on mitochondria, which may result in an increase in antioxidant capacity.
