The phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) is involved in regulation of multiple intracellular processes. Although the inhibitory analysis is generally employed for validating a physiological role of PI3K, increasing body of evidence suggests that PI3K inhibitors can exhibit PI3K-unrelated activity as well. In this study, we investigated antibiotic-resistant microorganisms isolated by the direct plating method from 6 playgrounds in the city of Pushchino, Moscow Region, with different types of coating: sand, soil with sand, grass and a modern playground coating made of pressed rubber crumb. Study covered general and oncologic mortality in TV workers exposed to low levels of nonionizing radiation. A case study was undertaken to examine general and cancer mortality rates and cancer morbidity among municipal transport drivers in Moscow. The mortality and cancer morbidity in 1969 to 1988 were followed up among 2528 men and 212 women. In this period, male mortality rates due to malignant neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases and all causes taken together were statistically lower than the expected rates.
