Upper limb neurodynamic mobilization disperses intraneural fluid in cervical nerve roots: A human cadaveric investigation.

Background: Cervical radiculopathy is a common cause of neck pain with resultant intraneural edema and impaired nerve function. One strategy to treat radiculopathy is neurodynamic mobilization (NDM); however, little is known about the effect of this treatment on nerve tissue fluid dynamics.

Objective: Investigate the impact of upper limb, median nerve-biased NDM on longitudinal intraneural fluid dispersion in the C5,C6,C7 nerve roots in un-embalmed cadavers.

Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Randomized Controlled Trials Infrequently Report on the Social Determinants of Health Factors of Their Patient Cohorts.

Purpose: To describe the prevalence of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in orthopaedic sports medicine-related journals reporting on the social determinants of health (SDOH) of their patient cohorts, including factors receiving less attention, such as education level, employment status, insurance status, and socioeconomic status.

Methods: The PubMed/MEDLINE database was used to search for RCTs between 2020 and 2022 from 3 high-impact orthopaedic sports medicine-related journals: American Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. The following information was extracted from each article: age, sex/gender, body mass index, year published, corresponding author country, and self-reported SDOH factors (race, ethnicity, education level, employment status, insurance status, and socioeconomic status).

Triceps Tendon Rupture - A Novel Repair of an Uncommon Injury.

Introduction: Triceps tendon rupture is a rare injury accounting for <1% of all tendon injuries with varying repair techniques described. We present this novel repair to supplement available literature and help optimize the clinical outcomes for affected patients. We report this technique because it is unique in that we augmented our surgical fixation with a subtle variation in the described technique by repairing the deep portion of the triceps tendon as a separate step, maximizing the recreation of the anatomic footprint of the triceps.
