Signals of opportunity (SoOp) reflectometry (SoOp-R) is a maturing field for geophysical remote sensing as evidenced by the growing number of airborne and spaceborne experiments. As this approach receives more attention, it is worth analyzing SoOp-R's capabilities to retrieve subsurface soil moisture (SM) by leveraging communication and navigation satellite transmitters. In this research, the CRLB is used to identify the effects of variable SoOp-R parameters on the best achievable estimation error for root-zone soil moisture (RZSM).

Additionally, this study has been co-authored by prominent Chinese and US physicians and researchers with expertise in cardiovascular disease, neurologic disorders, epidemiology, and real world data. While there have been several systematic reviews of real world associations of risk factors for coronary artery disease, none focus specifically on the population of China, where there is growing evidence that such risk factors are poorly treated or uncontrolled, especially in rural areas.

Purpose: Published evidence on quality-of-life (QOL) outcomes and health care costs in patients with postthrombotic syndrome (PTS), a common and difficult-to-diagnose complication of venous thromboembolism (VTE), is reviewed.
Summary: Occurring in as many as 70% of patients with VTE, PTS remains a challenging and costly disorder, partly due to the lack of a standard diagnostic definition and varying classification systems. Searches of Medline and EMBASE identified 12 articles on humanistic and economic outcomes associated with PTS.
Background: Population allele frequencies of apolipoprotein E (APOE) vary by geographic region. The purpose of this study is to summarize and evaluate published estimates for the prevalence of APOE e4 carrier status among the population diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease (AD) by geographic region and country.
Methods: A systematic review of English-language publications from January 1, 1985, through May 31, 2010, was conducted.
Background: Pediatric hypertriglyceridemia is an emerging comorbidity of childhood obesity.
Methods: This study reviewed medical records retrospectively to describe the characteristics and clinical course of 300 at-risk children followed in a pediatric preventive cardiology clinic.
Results: Average baseline triglyceride (TG) level was 269 mg/dL (SD 342 mg/dL); 91% had TG levels between 150 and 399 mg/dL.
Purpose: To identify potential safety profiles for small molecule multi-targeted kinase inhibitors for the treatment of advanced cancer.
Methods: A systematic review was performed on published papers and meeting abstracts reporting safety outcomes in cancer patients for selected multi-kinase inhibiting small molecules with mainly anti-angiogenic activity. Specifically, we focused on single agent safety or early phase clinical development studies.
