Background: Neonatal and puerperal sepsis are major manifestations of invasive group B streptococcal (Streptococcus agalactiae; iGBS) infections. International data indicate the importance of iGBS infections among non-pregnant adults.

Aims: To describe the burden of iGBS infections in Western Australia (WA) between 2000 and 2018 in terms of incidence, length of hospitalisation and all-cause 30- and 90-day mortality.

The classic presentation of GCTTS is a painless, firm, slow growing mass present for weeks to months.

Background: COVID-19 Ethnic Inequalities in Mental health and Multimorbidities (COVEIMM) is a mixed methods study to explore whether COVID-19 exacerbated ethnic health inequalities in adults with serious mental and physical health conditions. We analysed data from electronic health records for England and conducted interviews in Birmingham and Solihull, Manchester, and South London. Sites were selected because they were pilot sites for the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework being introduced by NHS England to tackle race inequalities in mental health.

Patient education for the management of subacromial pain syndrome: A scoping review.

Objective: To identify the extent of the literature on patient education for subacromial pain syndrome (SAPS).

Methods: A scoping review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA-ScR standards. Nine databases were searched until November 2022 to identify articles describing patient education interventions for the management of SAPS.

Aim: To examine low birth weight (LBW) in First Nations babies born in a large metropolitan health service in Queensland, Australia.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective population-based study using routinely collected data from administrative data sources. All singleton births in metropolitan health services, Queensland, Australia of ≥20 weeks gestation or at least 400 g birthweight and had information on First Nations status and born between 2019 and 2021 were included.

Severe congenital ichthyosiform dermatosis in CHIME syndrome successfully treated with ixekizumab.

Coloboma, congenital heart disease, ichthyosiform dermatosis, intellectual disability, conductive hearing loss, and epilepsy (CHIME) syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive neuroectodermal disorder caused by PIGL gene mutations. There is emerging literature to support the use of interleukin-17 (IL-17) antagonists in the treatment of certain ichthyosiform dermatoses. Here, we report a case of severe ichthyosiform dermatosis in a child with CHIME syndrome who was recalcitrant to multiple topical medications and dupilumab.

Enabling 3D CT-scanning of cultural heritage objects using only in-house 2D X-ray equipment in museums.

Visualizing the internal structure of museum objects is a crucial step in acquiring knowledge about the origin, state, and composition of cultural heritage artifacts. Among the most powerful techniques for exposing the interior of museum objects is computed tomography (CT), a technique that computationally forms a 3D image using hundreds of radiographs acquired in a full circular range. However, the lack of affordable and versatile CT equipment in museums, combined with the challenge of transporting precious collection objects, currently keeps this technique out of reach for most cultural heritage applications.

Engaging patients through education: a modified-Delphi consultation to develop recommendations for patient education interventions in the management of subacromial pain syndrome in physical therapy.

Purpose: To develop recommendations to support the range of patient education interventions relevant in the management of patients with subacromial pain syndrome (SAPS) in physical therapy.

Materials And Methods: A 3-round modified Delphi consultation was used to obtain consensus agreement on the relevance of 12 preliminary recommendations. These were developed from a literature review and an expert consultation on general educational strategies and specific patient education interventions for the management of SAPS.

Although the chemical composition of waxes on a wide variety of important crops has been described, a detailed wax compositional analysis has yet to be reported for lettuce ( L.), one of the most widely consumed vegetables.

Antiviral drugs prolong survival in murine recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa.

Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is a rare inherited skin disease characterized by defects in type VII collagen leading to a range of fibrotic pathologies resulting from skin fragility, aberrant wound healing, and altered dermal fibroblast physiology. Using a novel in vitro model of fibrosis based on endogenously produced extracellular matrix, we screened an FDA-approved compound library and identified antivirals as a class of drug not previously associated with anti-fibrotic action. Preclinical validation of our lead hit, daclatasvir, in a mouse model of RDEB demonstrated significant improvement in fibrosis as well as overall quality of life with increased survival, weight gain and activity, and a decrease in pruritus-induced hair loss.

Closing the gap: Enhancing quality pediatric dermatologic care through project Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO).

This study focused on evaluating Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) participating primary care clinician's (PCC's) diagnostic and treatment accuracy of pediatric dermatologic conditions. To evaluate this, pediatric cases presented to Dermatology ECHO by PCCs with questions regarding diagnosis, treatment regimen, or both were analyzed. After PCC case presentation, the hub team of dermatologists facilitated case-based discussion and provided the presenter with mentorship and guidance regarding diagnosis and treatment of their patient.

We emphasize the current need for more exploration of AI's applications in day-to-day education in physiotherapy schools.

Multiscale Richtmyer-Meshkov instability experiments to isolate the strain rate dependence of strength.

Theoretical analysis of Richtmyer-Meshkov instability (RMI) experiments for solid strength shows that the strain rate for a given shock should be inversely proportional to the length scale of the sine wave perturbations when η_{0}k, the nondimensional amplitude to wavelength ratio, is held fixed. To isolate the effect of strain rate on strength, free-surface RMI specimens of annealed copper were prepared with three perturbation regions with the same η_{0}k but different length scales, characterized by the wavelength λ varying by a factor of 4.9 from 65 to 130 to 320µm.

Evaluation of Patients Referred for Abnormal Digital Rectal Examination With Normal Prostate-Specific Antigen on Best Timed Pathway for Prostate Cancer.

Introduction Currently, there is no recommendation for adjustments to the Best Timed Pathway for Prostate cancer (BTiPP) depending on whether the referral is for raised prostate-specific antigen (PSA) or malignant-feeling prostate on digital rectal examination (DRE). Therefore, all patients undergo MRI scanning. We aim to establish if patients with abnormal DRE only (without raised PSA) should have an adjusted pathway by comparing the biopsy rate and diagnostic yield after an MRI scan.

Background: The association of COVID-19 with death in people with severe mental illness (SMI), and associations with multimorbidity and ethnicity, are unclear.

Aims: To determine all-cause mortality in people with SMI following COVID-19 infection, and assess whether excess mortality is affected by multimorbidity or ethnicity.

Method: This was a retrospective cohort study using primary care data from the Clinical Practice Research Database, from February 2020 to April 2021.
