Incorporating zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles as antibacterial fillers in heat-cured acrylic resin could decrease mucin and Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) adhesion, reducing the incidence of dental caries in the baseplates of orthodontic patients. Here, ZnO nanoparticles were modified using 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate with various concentrations, added to acrylic resin powder, homogenized, mixed with acrylic resin liquid, and processed.
