A rare case of hydatid cyst of the neck with concurrent pulmonary hydatid disease.

Echinococcosis, commonly known as hydatid disease, is a zoonotic infection caused by dog tapeworm . Hydatid disease of the head and neck region is scarcely reported even in endemic areas. We herein report a case with with neck swelling and respiratory symptoms subsequently diagnosed to have disseminated echinococcosis of the neck and left lung.

Combining omental plug and patch: a simple adjunct to safer repair of Giant Prepyloric Perforation.

Giant prepyloric perforation ( size > 2 cm) is a challenging surgical problem; options include repair with an omental patch or an omental plug. Alternative methods are more complicated. However, the leak rate and mortality is unacceptably high.

Graphene oxide/ferric hydroxide composites for efficient arsenate removal from drinking water.

A series of novel composites based on graphene oxide (GO) cross-linked with ferric hydroxide was developed for effective removal of arsenate from contaminated drinking water. GO, which was used as a supporting matrix here, was firstly treated with ferrous sulfate. Then, the ferrous compound cross-linked with GO was in situ oxidized to ferric compound by hydrogen peroxide, followed by treating with ammonium hydroxide.
