Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising materials for gas adsorption; however, only a small number of COFs has been studied for a few types of gas separations to date. To unlock the full potential of the COF space, composed of 69 784 different types of materials, we studied the adsorption of five important gas molecules, CO, CH, H, N, and O in COFs at various pressures combining high-throughput molecular simulations and machine learning. Rivers across the world are increasingly fragmented due to anthropogenic barriers, with the restoration of connectivity often using fish passes. Fish passes are, however, usually designed for anadromous species, despite ecologically important non-anadromous species being present in the communities impacted by fragmentation. To assess the outcomes for non-anadromous fishes of the installation of multiple fish passes and weir modifications, the movements of the potamodromous European barbel Barbus barbus were evaluated in the lower River Severn basin, western Britain, which was fragmented by six weirs (two on a tributary, four on the Severn mainstem).

Validation of the vitiligo-specific quality-of-life instrument (VitiQoL) for the Turkish language: the VitiQoL-TR study.

Vitiligo is a generally asymptomatic acquired depigmentation disorder, limiting the utility of general dermatology quality of life (QoL) scales that may not adequately reflect the psychosocial burden experienced by patients. The aim of our study was to translate the vitiligo-specific quality-of-life instrument (VitiQoL) with maximum score of 90, into Turkish language, and to culturally adapt and validate it for use in the Turkish population. The VitiQoL was initially cross‑culturally adapted to Turkish through forward‑backward translation.

Effects of voluntary or involuntary exercise in adolescent male rats exposed to chronic social isolation on cognition, behavior, and neurotrophic factors.

This study investigated the effects of voluntary and involuntary/regular exercise on neurotrophic factors in the brain, cognitive functions, and anxiety in socially isolated adolescent male rats. In this study, 42 adolescent male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into six groups: control (C), socially isolated (SI), voluntary exercise (VE), regular exercise (RE), socially isolated + voluntary exercise (SI-VE), and socially isolated + regular exercise (SI-RE). Socially isolated groups were kept in separate cages for 4 weeks.

Comparison of Two Coronary Anastomosis Techniques in Terms of Flow Rate in Porcine Hearts.

Methods: We used the oral feeding parameters reported by NeoSAFE which is a certified medical device, to assess the swallowing and swallow-respiration coordination in newborn infants.

Association Between Renal Pelvis Urine Density and the Risk of Infectious Complications after Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery.

Renal pelvis urine density (RPUD), as measured by computed tomography (CT), may serve as an effective predictor for pyonephrosis. Our objective was to evaluate the correlation between the likelihood of developing infectious complications post-retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) and RPUD measurements obtained from preoperative CT scans. We retrospectively reviewed data from patients who underwent RIRS for kidney stone treatment at a tertiary care facility between June 2017 and June 2024, using the hospital's database.

Background: To present the characteristics of drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHR) among iron preparations and to describe the outcomes of rapid drug desensitization (RDD) and drug provocation tests (DPT) of ferric carboxymaltose (FCM).

Methods: The retrospective descriptive study comprised patients with hypersensitivy to iron supplements. Low-risk according to the index reaction with iron, 10 patients underwent a 4-step DPT with FCM; an 11-step RDD protocol was administered to 21 patients not classified as low-risk.
