Purpose: The purpose of this clinical study was to evaluate the effect of MAD at two different horizontal positions of mandible on upper airway dimensions through computed tomography.
Material And Methods: Twenty-nine consenting participants satisfying predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled and an adjustable two-piece MAD was fabricated at 50% maximum mandibular protrusion and after 4 weeks was adjusted to 70% protrusion.

Between its initiation in 2012 in Bihar and its transition to the government in 2019, Kilkari was scaled to 13 states across India and reached over 10 million new and expectant mothers and their families. We analyse the impacts of a package of mHealth audio messaging and paper-based job aids used by FLWs during government-sponsored village health, sanitation and nutrition days (VHSNDs) on knowledge and practices of childbearing women across the RMNCHN continuum of care.
Methods: Data from two surveys collected between July and September 2016 were analysed using logistic regression to compare health-related knowledge and behaviours between women who had been exposed at VHSNDs to the mHealth GupShup Potli (GSP) audio recordings or interpersonal communication (IPC) tools versus those who were unexposed.
Kilkari is one of the largest maternal mobile messaging programmes in the world. It makes weekly prerecorded calls to new and expectant mothers and their families from the fourth month of pregnancy until 1-year post partum. The programme delivers reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health information directly to subscribers' phones.

Methods: Data were drawn from a cross-sectional survey of women (n=4423) with access to a mobile phone and their spouses (n=3781).
There has been exponential growth in the numbers of 'digital development' programmes seeking to leverage technology to solve systemic challenges. However, despite promising results and a shift from pilots to scale-ups, many have failed to realise their full potential. View Article and Find Full Text PDFThree decades ago, the Garlands postulated that vitamin D produced in the skin by ultraviolet radiation (UVR)-induced conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol to pre-D has anticancer effects, thus triggering more than 9,500 publications on D and cancer. Here, we report that UVR treatment of transgenic mice of the well-established C3(1)/SV40 Tag mammary cancer model significantly inhibits both autochthonous carcinogenesis and allograft tumor growth, but in contrast neither dietary nor topical D influences mammary carcinogenesis in this specific mouse model. Furthermore, UVR's inhibitory effects occur irrespective of whether or not the treatment increases circulating D in the mice.

AD is characterized clinically by cognitive deficit and pathologically by the deposition of β amyloid plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, associated with degeneration of the cholinergic forebrain. Withanone (WS-2), a compound isolated from root extract of Withania somnifera at doses administered orally/day to wistar rats for duration of 21 days showed significant improvement in the cognitive skill by inhibiting amyloid β-42 and attenuated the elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-6, MCP-1, Nitric oxide, lipid peroxidation and both β- and γ- secretase enzymatic activity.
