Citrus fruits, known for their vibrant flavours and health benefits, are susceptible to fungal attacks, particularly from toxigenic fungi, which pose a significant pre- and post-harvest hazard. However, aromatic oils and their nanoparticles may effectively address this issue. Marjoram and fennel oils, alongside their nanoparticles, were extracted, and their aromatic constituents and antimicrobial activities were evaluated.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the association between PDFF measurements and clinical fracture incidence.
Methods: A longitudinal study was conducted.
Introduction And Hypothesis: Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is the descent of pelvic organs, causing patient discomfort. Despite its increasing prevalence, agreement in the field as to the cause is elusive. Weakness in pelvic floor muscles is implicated, but specific structural changes remain unclear.

This is particularly the case in global health where nation-states are being called upon to equip their health workforce with leadership skills and competencies to improve population health and engage in health system development. In the perspective that follows, we argue that successfully meeting such demands requires not only a high-quality education offering but also one that is aware of and engaged with the coloniality underpinning its underlying assumptions.

Therefore, the identification of an effective biomarker predicting tumor progression in cancer bladder patients is a crucial issue. This study aimed to identify TIPE2 and CD36 expressions in cancer bladder and examine their relationship with clinicopathological data and prognosis.

This study evaluated the predictive value of fetal estimated weight (EFW) and Doppler indices before adverse perinatal outcomes.
Design: Retrospective multicentre cohort study.
Study Objectives: Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the most effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, its effectiveness is limited by poor long-term compliance. Few recent studies have investigated the effectiveness of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) in treating OSA; however, its role remains uncertain.

Objective: To describe the characteristics of patients with HFrEF who had improvement in their left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and independent predictors of improvement.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study conducted at the advanced heart failure (HF) clinic in Qatar recruited patients who visited the clinic between January 2017 and December 2018.
Introduction: Despite being implicated in a wide spectrum of community- and healthcare-acquired infections, anaerobes have not yet been incorporated into systematic surveillance programs in Europe.
Methods: We conducted a multicentre retrospective observational study analysing all anaerobic strains isolated from blood cultures in 44 European Hospital Centres over a 4-year period (2020-2023). Diagnostic approach, epidemiology, and antimicrobial susceptibility according to EUCAST v.
The detection of transient peri-ictal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) abnormalities has been variable after epileptic seizures. The most common reason for this variability is that abnormalities may disappear if the interval between seizure and scan acquisition is prolonged using conventional high-field systems. Here, we deployed a portable ultra-low-field MRI system in the presurgical evaluation at the bedside of individuals with epilepsy.

Upon heating at temperatures >400 °C, the hierarchical 1DLs porous mesostructured particles transform to anatase, while retaining their morphology. These assemblies are characterized via X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and solid-state ultraviolet absorbance.

The American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines recommend implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantation for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with a wall thickness of ≥30 mm (class IIA), whereas they give a class IIB recommendation for the implantation of an ICD on the basis of extensive late gadolinium enhancement alone. In this analysis, we show that in a high-risk population with ICD implanted for primary prevention of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in the setting of HCM, the presence of massive left ventricular hypertrophy predicts a higher incidence of ICD therapy than other traditional SCD risk factors. The presence of extensive myocardial fibrosis, however, identifies a subgroup of patients without massive left ventricular hypertrophy who have an equally high incidence of receiving appropriate device therapy.

The association of bisphosphonates, serum calcium and serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) with native AV degeneration have been studied extensively. However, their association with structural valve degeneration (SVD) is yet to be elucidated.

Their colloidal stability, aggregation, and sedimentation were studied as a function of ionic strengths of Na and Li cations. After reaction, a water-based stable colloidal suspension (ζ-potential ∼ -31 ± 1 mV) was obtained.

The lack of an etiologic model for PNES as well as limitations of available diagnostic methods largely hinders a clear-cut distinction from epilepsy and from a normal functioning brain. In this study, we investigate the brain dynamics of people with PNES and people with epilepsy during phases far-off seizures and seizure-like events as well as the brain dynamics of a control group.

This mixed-methods study, grounded in the socioecological model, sought to examine distress levels among MBC patients and caregivers across academic and safety-net healthcare settings and to explore how individual, interpersonal, and system-level factors-shaped by intersecting identities such as race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status-influence unmet supportive care needs and intervention preferences.
Methods: Surveys and interviews were conducted with a racially and ethnically diverse group of MBC patients (N = 27) and caregivers (N = 19), recruited from a comprehensive cancer center with academic practice and safety-net hospital affiliates.
Objectives: To review the outcomes of the cochlear implantation program at King Abdallah Medical Center (KAMC) in Makkah from its launch in 2018 to 2023, focusing on patient demographics, procedural details, and complications.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 133 patients who underwent cochlear implantation (CI) at KAMC between May 2018 and June 2023. Data collected included demographics, hearing loss types, anatomical findings from imaging, types of CI devices, procedural challenges, and complications.
Background: Oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) is critical for managing thromboembolic disorders, but adherence challenges significantly impact its effectiveness and patients' quality of life (QoL). This study explores the predictors of adherence and their effects on QoL among OAT users in Egypt.
Methods: This multi-center cross-sectional descriptive study with an analytical component was conducted at Mansoura University Hospital and Ain Shams University Hospital.
Objectives: Although pre-treatment parameters for subtractive computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) materials have been thoroughly investigated, data regarding additive restorative materials designed for permanent use in the oral cavity are scarce. This study investigated the effects of abrasive materials and blasting pressure on the bond strength of 3D-printed resins used in permanent restorations.
Methods: A total of n = 44 test specimens additively manufactured from Formlabs' `Permanent Crown Resin' were prepared.
Aims: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. Although lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is known to be a well-established risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), its role in development of AF, independent of this association, remains unclear.
Methods: Adult patients from the three Mayo Clinic sites with a baseline Lp(a) and without AF history were included.
Purpose: To evaluate the reliability, validity and applicability of ILD-RADS among readers with different levels of experience.
Methods: This prospective tri-center study included 159 patients with clinically diagnosed ILD who underwent high-resolution CT (HRCT). Two experienced thoracic radiologists, two general radiologists, and one pulmonologist independently evaluated the HRCT images blinded to the patient's clinical data and assigned ILD-RADS category for each patient.
Background: The tetracyclic indoloquinoline ring system has attracted considerable interest in the recent past due to its broad spectrum of biological activities and its binding to various types of nucleic acids.
