Background: Studies on pediatric travelers' health rarely address expat or long-term travelers' children.

Method: To investigate reasons for seeking care and adherence to pretravel preparation, we prospectively enrolled French children 0-15 years old, either expatriates or staying >6 months in tropical areas, who attended a French health center in Africa, Central America or Southern Pacific regions from October 01, 2011 to October 31, 2012. A standardized questionnaire was completed by a general practitioner at each visit, then anonymized and included in our database.

Background: International travel is a risk factor for colonization with Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase-producing- Enterobacteriaceae (ESBL-E). We describe the prevalence of and risk-factors for ESBL-E colonization in civilian and military travelers.

Methods: Patients hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of Bégin Military Hospital (France) from May 2012 to November 2015, who had traveled abroad over the past two months, were screened for intestinal colonization with ESBL-E.

Forward medevac during Serval and Barkhane operations in Sahel: A registry study.

Introduction: The French army has been deployed in Mali since January 2013 with the Serval Operation and since July 2014 in the Sahel-Saharan Strip (SSS) with the Barkhane Operation where the distances (up to 1100km) can be very long. French Military Medical Service deploys an inclusive chain from the point of injury (POI) to hospital in France. A patient evacuation coordination cell (PECC) has been deployed since February 2013 to organise forward medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) in the area between the POI and three forward surgical units.

Is there a link between exertional heat stroke and susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia?

Objective: The identification of a predisposition toward malignant hyperthermia (MH) as a risk factor for exertional heat stroke (EHS) remains a matter of debate. Such a predisposition indicates a causal role for MH susceptibility (MHS) after EHS in certain national recommendations and has led to the use of an in vitro contracture test (IVCT) to identify the MHS trait in selected or unselected EHS patients. The aim of this study was to determine whether the MHS trait is associated with EHS.

[Surgical excision of subclinical cortisol secreting incidentalomas: Impact on blood pressure, BMI and glucose metabolism].

Objectives: To compare clinical, vascular and metabolic parameters before and after surgery in patients with subclinical cortisol secreting incidentalomas.

Patients And Methods: Eight patients were investigated before and 12 months after removal of the mass on hemodynamic (blood pressure by MAPA procedure), anthropometric (body weight, body mass index), and metabolic parameters (glucose level, HbA(1c)).

Results: In the whole group, 75% of patients displayed decrease in blood pressure (cessation of at least one hypotensive medication) and 33% of them were definitely cured of hypertension.
