This study investigated the effect of the addition of starch from "hawthorn" yam () and "creole" yam () at different concentrations (0.1%, 0.3%, and 0.

Such constraints could arise from our dependence on harmonic frequency spectra for segregating concurrent sounds, but evidence has been circumstantial. We measured the extent to which concurrent musical notes are misperceived as a single sound, testing Westerners as well as native Amazonians with limited exposure to Western music.

To gain insight into the mechanisms that mediate epigenetic inheritance, we used a inducible heterochromatin formation system to perform a genetic screen for mutations that abolish heterochromatin inheritance without affecting its establishment. We identified mutations in several pathways, including the conserved and essential Rix1-associated complex (henceforth the rixosome), which contains RNA endonuclease and polynucleotide kinase activities with known roles in ribosomal RNA processing.

Objective: To determine the yield for head CT in children with acute psychosis or hallucinations.
The aim of this study was to characterize Shiga toxigenic Escherichia coli (STEC) by PCR using strains isolated from ham, beef, and cattle in Colombia. A total of 189 E. coli strains were tested for the presence of the uidA, stx1, and stx2 genes, and identification was confirmed by the automated PCR BAX system for E.

A total of 74 patients were studied: 37 asymptomatic and 37 patients clinically suspected having the disease. ELISA tests were performed to determine antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi.

Platelet aggregation was similar in patients and controls, although two patients presented spontaneous aggregation. Production of MDA and plasma levels of BTG were higher in MVP than in controls; however, recovery after ASA was similar in both groups.
