Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is extensively utilized in industrial applications, posing significant environmental and health risks because of its persistence and toxicity. Effective elimination methods are vital to mitigate its adverse effects on ecosystems and human health. In this study, we investigate the potential of biomass-derived polymer composite for PFOA adsorption in aqueous solution.

In this study, we report the development of a novel CuO(3 wt%)/CoFeO nanocubes (NCs) photocatalyst through simple co-precipitation and wet impregnation methods for the efficient photocatalytic degradation of triclosan (TCS) pollutants. Initially, rod-shaped bare CoFeO was synthesized using a simple co-precipitation technique. Subsequently, CuO was loaded in various percentages (1, 2, and 3 wt%) onto the surface of bare CoFeO nanorods (NRs) via the wet impregnation method.

Acetamiprid is a broad-spectrum insecticide, belonging to the neonicotinoid compounds group, which has been extensively applied throughout the globe. Recently, indiscriminate use of these compounds was reported to cause fatal impacts on non-targeted soil organisms. Hence, the present study aimed to examine the impact of acetamiprid on Indian indigenous earthworm, Perionyx excavatus.

Extensive use of neonicotinoid insecticides in recent decade had contaminated water and soil systems and poses serious environmental and health risk. Microbial degradation of toxic contaminants in the environment has been established as a sustainable tool towards its remediation. Under this context, the present study focused on the biodegradation of neonicotinoid insecticide acetamiprid, by bacterial strain Brucella intermedia PDB13 isolated from the gut of the acetamiprid exposed earthworms.

Herein, we report an AgO (3 wt%)-loaded ZnFeO photocatalysts synthesized by co-precipitation and incipient wet impregnation approach for acetamiprid degradation, antibacterial, antioxidant, and toxicity assay. Initially, bare ZnFeO nanostructures were made through a simple co-precipitation method. In the second step, 3 wt% of various transition metal oxides (CuO, ZrO, and AgO) were embedded on the surface of ZnFeO photocatalysts via a wet impregnation method.

A simple, efficient, and ecofriendly method was employed to synthesize TiO/ZrO/SiO ternary nanocomposites using leaf extract (PYLE) that shows improved photocatalytic and antibacterial properties. The characterization of the obtained nanocomposites was done by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopic (EDS) analysis. The synthesized ternary nanocomposites with nanoscale pore diameters were investigated for the elimination of Reactive Red 120 (RR120) dye.
