: University students experience ≈ 9 h of sitting/day, which may support interventions like active desks. University students ( = 24) Method: Randomized crossover trial aimed to compare effects of sitting (SED), low and moderate-intensity cycling desks (CD; CD) concurrent to an academic task (30-minute video + written exam). Selective visual attention (Tobii Glasses 2) was measured throughout the intervention, and workload (NASA-TLX) and anxiety (POMS-SF) were assessed before and after the video and post-exam.

Spatial transcriptomics reveals substantial heterogeneity in triple-negative breast cancer with potential clinical implications.

While triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is known to be heterogeneous at the genomic and transcriptomic levels, spatial information on tumor organization and cell composition is still lacking. Here, we investigate TNBC tumor architecture including its microenvironment using spatial transcriptomics on a series of 92 patients. We perform an in-depth characterization of tumor and stroma organization and composition using an integrative approach combining histomorphological and spatial transcriptomics.

Adaptive radiotherapy is characterized by the use of a daily imaging system, such as CBCT (Cone-Beam Computed Tomography) images to re-optimize the treatment based on the daily anatomy and position of the patient. By systematically re-delineating the Clinical Target Volume (CTV) at each fraction, target delineation uncertainty features a random component instead of a pure systematic. The goal of this work is to identify the random and systematic contributions of the delineation error and compute a new relevant Planning Target Volume (PTV) safety margin.

Kidney dynamic SPECT acquisition on a CZT swiveling-detector ring camera: an in vivo pilot study.

Background: Large field of view CZT SPECT cameras with a ring geometry are available for some years now. Thanks to their good sensitivity and high temporal resolution, general dynamic SPECT imaging may be performed more easily, without resorting to dedicated systems. To evaluate the dynamic SPECT imaging by such cameras, we have performed an in vivo pilot study to analyze the kidney function of a pig and compare the results to standard dynamic planar imaging by a conventional gamma camera.

Design Aspects for Portable LED-Based Colorimetric Characterisation Systems Targeting Liquid Analytes.

Colorimetric characterisation systems based on LEDs and RBG sensors are straightforward to implement, are highly integrable allowing for portable measurement systems and can be constructed using widespread and affordable components. They have already proved to be a satisfactory solution in several applications related to chemical analysis. In this paper, we present an RGB sensor-based prototype for colorimetric characterisation, which can accommodate cuvettes with optical paths of 10 mm and 40 mm.

Life threatening rickettsiosis and the role of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis syndrome (HLH): Case report of a 21-year-old woman.

Low-Cost Optical pH Sensor with a Polyaniline (PANI)-Sensitive Layer Based on Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Components.

In this paper, we presented a novel, compact, conceptually simple, and fully functional low-cost prototype of a pH sensor with a PANI thin film as a sensing layer. The PANI deposition process is truly low-cost; it performs from the liquid phase, does not required any specialized equipment, and comprises few processing steps. The resulting PANI layer has excellent stability, resistance to solvents, and bio- and chemical compatibility.

Efficacy and Safety of Transcranial Electric Stimulation during the Perinatal Period: A Systematic Literature Review and Three Case Reports.

Interrogating breast cancer heterogeneity using single and pooled circulating tumor cell analysis.

Single cell technologies allow the interrogation of tumor heterogeneity, providing insights into tumor evolution and treatment resistance. To better understand whether circulating tumor cells (CTCs) could complement metastatic biopsies for tumor genomic profiling, we characterized 11 single CTCs and 10 pooled CTC samples at the mutational and copy number aberration (CNA) levels, and compared these results with matched synchronous tumor biopsies from 3 metastatic breast cancer patients with triple-negative (TNBC), HER2-positive and estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) tumors. Similar CNA profiles and the same patient-specific driver mutations were found in bulk tissue and CTCs for the HER2-positive and TNBC tumors, whereas different CNA profiles and driver mutations were identified for the ER+ tumor, which presented two distinct clones in CTCs defined by mutations in ESR1 Y537N and TP53, respectively.

Fate and Fathead Minnow Embryotoxicity of Weathering Crude Oil in a Pilot-Scale Spill Tank.

For several years now, the Natural Resources Canada research facility at CanmetENERGY Devon (AB, Canada) has been performing experiments in a pilot-scale spill tank using 1200 L of river water to examine the physical and chemical behaviors of various crude oil/water mixtures under varying water temperature regimes. Because oil toxicity can be modulated by weathering of the petroleum products, the present study aimed to assess changes in fish embryotoxicity to mixed sweet blend crude oil as it weathered at air and water temperatures of 14 °C and 15 °C, respectively, for 28 d. The physicochemical behavior of the oil was also monitored.

Unraveling Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Tumor Microenvironment Heterogeneity: Towards an Optimized Treatment Approach.

Background: Recent efforts of gene expression profiling analyses recognized at least four different triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) molecular subtypes. However, little is known regarding their tumor microenvironment (TME) heterogeneity.
