Background: The coronavirus pandemic has had a profound impact on the cervical screening programme in Wales for the eligible women, sample takers, and laboratory and colposcopy services.

Aims: To explore what changes due to the pandemic have adversely affected screening outcomes in Wales and what lessons can be learned to improve cervical screening in Wales and elsewhere.

Methods: A review of the screening performance in 2020 and the first quarter of 2021 in Wales as well as a comparison with other cervical screening programme responses to the pandemic.

We present a rare case of renal metastasis of a recurrent pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland in an elderly woman. Metastasising pleomorphic adenoma shows malignant clinical behaviour, and although it appears histologically benign, there may be unknown molecular features that determine its unusual ability to spread.

Objective: Toxicological analyses are often performed to investigate suspected poisoning, but the interpretation of results may not be straightforward. We studied suspected poisoning cases 1992-2003 where blood clozapine and N-desmethylclozapine (norclozapine) were measured in order to assess the relationship of these parameters to outcome.
