[Remote infrared thermography: achievements, current potentials, and perspectives].

The article presents obtained results on using remote infrared thermograph in medical practice in Ukraine. It was shown that appearance of domestic thermographs with matrix photoreceiver enhances considerably an area of their use. New results related to diagnosis of a patient's state were obtained.

[Cysteine cathepsins secreted into the blood as markers of tumor growth].

Cathepsin H was secreted into the blood plasma of cancer patients before and after surgery. In the mandibular osteoradionecrosis group, there was a tendency for cathepsin H level to decrease, although only in cases free from recurrent tumor growth. Constant levels of cathepsin H were maintained after specific treatment, even in tumor recurrence-free cases.

[Clinical picture and differentiated therapy of mental disorders in oncostomatologic diseases].

Using clinical and experimental-psychological methods, the author studied the pathogenesis of mental disturbances in patients suffering from malignant neoplasms of the maxillofacial area. Disturbances are differentiated into predominantly psychogenic and predominantly somatogenic. The article considers the mechanisms of the development of the pathological states and also possible approaches to the psychoprophylaxic and psychotherapy for each group of patients.

[Follow-up of patients with malignant neoplasms of the maxillofacial region].

The results of postoperative treatment of 102 cases operated upon for malignant neoplasms of the maxillofacial region are set forth. In 58 among them some concommitant diseases were observed involving mostly the cardiovascular system. During the operation, however, no complications in all the patients were noted except for the development of hypotension in time of anesthetizing in one case.

[Surgical tactics in severe combined injuries of the face and other body regions].

The results of treatment in 67 patients with associated injuries of the face and other regions of the body are analysed. Sixteen of them died. Their poor state was conditioned not by facial injuries but by traumas of other organs and system of the organism.
