Background: Two studies were conducted assessing the efficacy of NexGard® PLUS (NP) in preventing heartworm disease. Study 1 evaluated the efficacy of six monthly doses of NP or Simparica Trio® (ST) against a macrocyclic lactone-resistant isolate of heartworm, Dirofilaria immitis, and study 2 evaluated the efficacy of a single dose of NP against a susceptible isolate.
Methods: In two studies, dogs that were negative for heartworms by antigen test and modified Knott's test were used.
The new generation of non-hydrostatic and compressible numerical models of the ocean can explicitly simulate acoustic waves when and where space and time resolution is adapted. We show that these models can consequently propagate accurately acoustic waves and modes through a free-surface, stratified ocean evolving simultaneously both in space and time, bringing them to the state of the art of acoustic propagation modelling. To some extent, both numerical cost and memory footprint may temper their range of applications but they are an unprecedented tool to evaluate deterministically the effects of ocean variability on low-frequency acoustic propagation in a realistically-evolving ocean.

This provides a unique opportunity to study COVID-19 incidence, survival risk factors, and overall prognosis.
Methods: COVID data was collected before vaccination was made available.
Aims Of The Study: Misuse of inhalers during chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) treatment is common and may result from errors in inhalation technique or insufficient peak inspiratory flow (PIF). We aimed to evaluate the impact of an in-hospital intervention to reduce inhaler misuse at hospital discharge among patients with COPD.
Methods: We conducted a monocentric, non-randomised intervention study to compare the proportion of misused inhalers at hospital discharge by patients with COPD between a group with standard care and a group receiving an in-hospital intervention.
The new generation of regional ocean models can provide the evolution of both the slow and fast components of pressure, consequently opening original opportunities to evaluate the acoustic signal generated by ocean slower dynamical processes. This capacity is evaluated in the case of surface waves, with a focus on the hydro-acoustic precursors and on the acoustic modes induced by supersonic surface wave groups. The consistency with theory confirms that such models are adapted to answer recent interrogations by Wunsch [(2022).

TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibril (CNF) hydrogels or cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) hydrogels can now be obtained at high concentrations (>10 wt%) and used to fabricate biobased materials and structures. Thus, it is required to control and model their rheology in process-induced multiaxial flow conditions using 3D tensorial models. For that purpose, it is necessary to investigate their elongational rheology.

The carrying in the arms of the young child by his mother is necessary during breastfeeding, for example. But it also occurs during moments of cuddling. These times of bodily proximity, with no other end than the relationship and tenderness, encourage the weaving of emotional bonds between the adult and his baby.

The babywearing groups can be carried out within the framework of prevention with "all-round" families or with so-called fragile populations. The group presented here was set up by a psychomotrician; its actions are illustrated by the parents' feedback.

However, the rheology of concentrated and highly concentrated CNF hydrogels is poorly understood due to the difficulties to characterise them using standard shear rheometers. In this study, enzymatic CNF hydrogels in the concentrated and highly concentrated regimes (3-13.

We aimed to assess efficacy of a follow-up approach including clinic visits, chest x-rays, chest CT scans, and fibre-optic bronchoscopy versus clinical visits and chest x-rays after surgery for resectable NSCLC.
Methods: In this multicentre, open-label, randomised, phase 3 trial (IFCT-0302), patients aged 18 years or older and after complete resection of pathological stage I-IIIA NSCLC according to the sixth edition of the TNM classification were enrolled within 8 weeks of resection from 122 hospitals and tertiary centres in France.
We report the case of a female patient with an obstructing well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumour in the apical segment of the completely atelectatic right lower lobe. Bronchoscopic debulking of the tumour lead to re-ventilation of the remaining lobe, allowing to perform a lung-sparing bronchoplastic resection of the affected segment by uniportal video-assisted thoracic surgery.

This calls for accurate measurements of STCs. Yet, it is only recently that such complete spatio-temporal or spatio-spectral characterization has become possible, and it has so far mostly been implemented at the output of the laser systems, where experiments take place.

This trial assessed a maintenance strategy conditioned by response to cisplatin-gemcitabine (CG) with G continuation for patients with OR or switch to pemetrexed (P) for patients with SD as compared with a control arm based on the Paramount regimen.
Methods: Eligibility criteria: age 18-70 years, ECOG PS 0-1, untreated stage IV NS-NSCLC without EGFR or ALK alteration, ineligibility to bevacizumab.
Inhaled medication is the cornerstone of medical treatment of COPD. The efficacy of these treatments depends on the optimal use of inhalation devices. This requires not only an impeccable inhalation technique, but above all the selection of an inhaler adapted to the patient.

Few studies have assessed their clinical impact. The aim of this monocentric study was to assess the impact of those guidelines on outcomes after liver surgery with a special focus on cirrhotic patients.

The main objective was to assess the potential of using this fast and economical processing technique to elaborate a 100% biobased composite which might substitute more usual polymer materials for structural applications. The starch powder was chosen as raw material for the matrix while the reinforcement was made of softwood fibres.

Blood samples were collected up to Day 10 to establish the plasma profile of gamithromycin, bioavailability and dose proportionality. When administered by intramuscular injection at 6 mg/kg BWT, pharmacokinetic parameters were as follows: area under the curve until last quantifiable plasma concentration, 5.

Nevertheless, there have been no studies dedicated to elderly patients.
Patients And Methods: We conducted a randomised trial in patients aged 70-89 years, with advanced NSCLC (with neither EGFR mutation nor ALK rearrangement), who had not progressed after four cycles of monthly carboplatin and weekly paclitaxel in order to compare maintenance with either pemetrexed (500 mg/m d1, 22) in patients with non-squamous cell carcinoma or gemcitabine (1,150 mg/m d1, 8, 22) in squamous cell carcinoma to simple observation.
Background: Lung cancer in women is on the rise, with a higher proportion occurring in lifelong never-smokers. Lung cancer in never-smokers (LCINS) exhibits a high frequency of driver oncogene alterations. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether exposure to reproductive factors in women with LCINS may modulate the molecular pattern.

Methods: In this multicentre, open-label phase III trial, patients with advanced nsNSCLC treated with one or two prior lines, including one platinum-based doublet, were centrally randomised to receive 90 mg/m of paclitaxel (D1, D8, D15) plus 10 mg/kg of bevacizumab (D1, D15) every 28 days or docetaxel (75 mg/m) every 21 days; crossover was allowed after disease progression. Primary end-point was progression-free survival (PFS).
