- Renal angiomyolipoma (AML) is a usually benign kidney tumor, classified into classical and aggressive epithelioid variants.
- A 36-year-old woman with 9 months of right lower quadrant pain was diagnosed with an AML that extended into the renal vein and inferior vena cava (IVC).
- The diagnosis was confirmed through histopathology, and the patient underwent total nephrectomy; the epithelioid variant of AML should be considered when assessing renal masses with vascular invasion.
Müllerian duct anomalies include a wide variety of developmental abnormalities involving the female reproductive system, many of which are not adequately represented by the current classification system used in the United States. Diagnosis can be made with imaging, but initial evaluation first requires a thorough physical exam. A 19-year-old female received a pelvic MRI for evaluation of a Müllerian duct anomaly following an abnormal pelvic exam.
