Heterologous expression of nitrogenase has been actively pursued because of the far-reaching impact of this enzyme on agriculture, energy and environment. Yet, isolation of an active two-component, metallocentre-containing nitrogenase from a non-diazotrophic host has yet to be accomplished. Here, we report the heterologous synthesis of an active Mo-nitrogenase by combining genes from and in .

After completion of the flagellar motor structure, the hook-basal body (HBB), the flagellar T3S system undergoes a switch from early to late substrate secretion, which results in the expression and assembly of the external, filament propeller-like structure. In order to characterize early substrate secretion-signals in the flagellar T3S system, the FlgB, and FlgC components of the flagellar rod, which acts as the drive-shaft within the HBB, were subject to deletion mutagenesis to identify regions of these proteins that were important for secretion.

We take a Bayesian approach and leverage the finite element method to cast the statistical problem as a nonlinear Gaussian state-space model, updating the solution, in receipt of data, in a filtering framework. The method is applicable to problems across science and engineering for which finite element methods are appropriate.

They present a clinical challenge due to the broad range of imaging characteristics on presentation. Recognition of complications is imperative to drive appropriate patient care and resource utilization to avoid diagnostic pitfalls and avert adverse patient outcomes.

Many infectious entities such as viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections can be discovered on imaging. Furthermore, imaging characterizes the extent of infection, involvement of specific bowel segments, and presence of complications in the abdomen.

She oversees four other nurses in a team of outreach workers who deliver a 'virtual ward' service to babies and children in their own homes who would traditionally have had to stay in hospital. There are other teams that do a similar job, but none manage it from 7am-11pm every day of the year and can complete three visits a day to patients, Ms Tribble argues.
