Based on the pivotal trial showing no clinically relevant differences between α-2b (Peg-α-2b) and α-2a (Peg-α-2a) combined with ribavirin for treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1 infection in Ukraine, a cost-minimization analysis was performed using a 1 year time horizon and both a health care and patients' perspective. A decision tree reflects treatment pathways. Drug costs were based on drug labeling and adjusted to the average body mass in Ukraine.

The authors studied the cardiac rhythm regulation status in 122 patients with duodenal ulcer. The studies were done by using a method of mathematical analysis of cardiac rhythm. [The assessment of the local immune reaction of the mucosa of the large intestine in patients with nonspecific ulcerative colitis].

The article presents data on the features of local immune reaction in lamina propria of colonic mucosa in patients with severe unspecific ulcerous colitis. Identification of immunocompetent cells with monoclonal antibodies, considered the most effective method to date, was used in the study. Number of immunocompetent cells in lamina propria of colonic mucosa was established to be significantly higher in patients with severe UUC as compared to that of the control group, subpopulations of B-lymphocytes prevailing.
