Their ectodomains can be shed from the cell surface, and act as paracrine and autocrine effectors or as competitors of full-length syndecans. We report the first biophysical characterization of the recombinant ectodomains of the four human syndecans using biophysical techniques, and show that they behave like flexible random-coil intrinsically disordered proteins, and adopt several conformation ensembles in solution.

Aim: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of ustekinumab and identify the predictive factors of ustekinumab failure-free persistence in a cohort of anti-TNF refractory CD patients.
Methods: We performed a retrospective multicentre cohort study including all consecutive CD patients who began subcutaneous ustekinumab and presented a clinical response (defined as a significant improvement of CD-related clinical symptoms assessed by the patient's physician leading to continued ustekinumab) during the first year of treatment.

The effects of a selective bradykinin 1 receptor antagonist, compound A, were evaluated in a canine model of acute inflammatory model of arthritis. Despite detection of the B receptor in canine type B synoviocytes using a fluorescent ligand, oral administration of compound A (9 and 27 mg/kg) did not improve weight bearing of dogs injected intra-articularly with IL-1β in a force plate analysis. Analysis of the synovial fluid of IL-1β-treated dogs indicated high levels of bradykinin postchallenge.

Methods: We performed a retrospective observational study, collecting data from the Groupe d'Etude Thérapeutique des Affections Inflammatoires du tube Digestif on 122 consecutive patients with active CD refractory to anti-TNF therapy who received at least 1 subcutaneous injection of ustekinumab from March 2011 to December 2014, in 20 tertiary centers in Europe.

Leishmaniasis is a vector-borne disease caused by the protozoa Leishmania. We have analyzed and compared the sequences of three experimental exoproteomes of Leishmania promastigotes from different species to determine their specific features and to identify new candidate proteins involved in interactions of Leishmania with the host. The exoproteomes differ from the proteomes by a decrease in the average molecular weight per protein, in disordered amino acid residues and in basic proteins.
