The reactions reflecting adaptation may assume pathological traits under certain conditions. It is necessary to have reliable predictors that characterize adaptive processes. As this criterion, it is expedient to use the most important marker of free radical oxidation, such as xanthine oxidase (XO) activity.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA combinatorial immune library of human single-chain antibody fragments (scFv) was constructed on the base of genes encoding variable domains of heavy and light chains of immunoglobulins cloned from the lymphocytes of four vaccinia virus (VACV) vaccinated donors. The size of the library was 3 x 10(7) independent clones. After the library was enriched with the clones producing scFv against recombinant analogue of variola virus surface protein prA30L, a panel of unique antibodies specific to both prA30L and VACV was selected from the library.

A combinatorial phage display library of human single-chain antibody fragments (scFv) was constructed on the basis of variable domains of heavy (Vh) and light (VI) genes cloned from the lymphocytes of six healthy donors. The size of the library was 2? 10(8) independent clones. Single-chain antibodies against recombinant human TNF?, vaccinia virus and virus-like particles formed by core protein of hepatitis B virus were selected from the library.

The decrease of the fibril thickness and the increase of their number in fascicles progressed during the postirradiation period and reached the values absent in the control animals.

A statistically significant correlation between the number of mast cells and spatial density of collagen fibres in the exposed pulmonary tissue was shown.

The interaction of the isolated chromosomes with the model phospholipid membranes in the presence of divalent cations leads to chromosomal decondensation as we showed previously by using different methods. In this manuscript we report data concerning the mechanism of such membrane-promoted decondensation. Under the action of liposomes at least three proteins are released from the chromosomes.

It has been found that during incubation lyposomes surround chromosomes, form a multifold covering considerably decondensing the chromosome matrix. The data obtained indicate that the analogues of cell membrane - lyposomes - may be involved in the regulation of the structural organization of metaphase chromosomes.

These changes were most pronounced 2-6 h after exposure, when they spread over 20-30% of the population, and accompanied by the appearance of wide gaps in the endothelial layer and maximal accretion of free lipids in the endotheliocyte cytoplasm.

Data are given concerning the gonotrophic cycle in fully engorged specimens of Leptoconops borealis, a mass blood sucker from the coast of the sea of Azov. In fully engorged females the repetition of gonotrophic cycles and degeneration of ovaries take place under the effect of Mermitoidea parasitism.
