Article Synopsis
  • Whole body-vibration training is known to improve muscle strength, flexibility, circulation, and reduce pain, but its specific effects on artistic gymnasts' flexibility remain unclear.
  • A systematic review identified 9 studies involving 210 male and female gymnasts, focusing on flexibility assessments using front splits, sit and reach, and bridge tests, showing improved flexibility percentages.
  • The findings suggest that whole-body vibration can enhance flexibility in artistic gymnasts and may work best when combined with traditional static stretching, though further research is needed to determine optimal vibration protocols.
