Ecological stoichiometry provides a new method for understanding the characteristics, driving forces and mechanisms of C, N and P coupled cycles. However, there are few reports on the variation in ecological stoichiometry of plants during their growth. In this study, we fitted the total elemental mass of different module based on the size of Nitraria tangutorum, and derived the ecological stoichiometry models of different module and whole ramet by measuring the biomass and nutrient concentrations of the current-year stems in 2017, 2-year-old stems, more than 2-year-old stems, leaves, roots and layerings of N.

Carboxyl-terminal binding proteins (CtBPs) are transcription regulators that control gene expression in multiple cellular processes. Our recent findings indicated that overexpression of caused the repression of multiple bone development and differentiation genes, resulting in atrophic nonunion. Therefore, disrupting the CtBP2-associated transcriptional complex with small molecules may be an effective strategy to prevent nonunion.

Deoxynivalenol (DON) is one of the most common contaminants of cereal grains. Efficient and environmental-friendly technology to eliminate DON is important for food safety and environmental protection. In this work, upconversion nanoparticles (UCNP) coated with titanium dioxide (TiO) photocatalysts were synthesized.

This paper describes the fabrication of an imprinted fluorescent nanoprobe based on SiO-coated NaYF: Yb, Er upconversion nanoparticles (UCNP) encapsulated with a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for determination of acetamiprid. The fluorescent MIP nanoprobe was prepared using UCNP as the material for fluorescence signal readout, acetamiprid as template molecule, methylacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer, and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linking agent. The molecular imprinting layers were immobilized on the surface of the UCNP@SiO by polymerization which occurred between the double bonds.

Herein, we constructed an aptamer-based sensor for the sensitive and highly specific detection of Shigella sonnei via surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) analysis. A composite material integrated of the Raman active 4-MBA ligand of the Eu-complex and citrate-stabilized Au nanoparticles (cit-Au NPs) was synthesized and served as both active substrate and Raman reporter. Aptamers targeted to S.

The direct use of digestate on farmlands as soil amendment is becoming an uneconomic option for farmers. Moreover, there are serious environmental concerns about its oversupply in regions with intensive biogas plants. Downstream technologies, offering innovative upcycling methods to handle huge amounts of digestate, have absorbed great interest in this context.

An aptamer-based sensitive method was developed here for detection of multiple foodborne pathogens in food matrix by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology. Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film was first prepared and then coated with gold nanoparticles (AuNP) to act as an active substrate for the enhancement of Raman scattering. The as-prepared Au-PDMS film was functionalized with specific pathogen aptamers (Apt) to capture the targets.

Background: Segmentation in arthropods typically occurs by sequential addition of segments from a posterior growth zone. However, the amount of tissue required for growth and the cell behaviors producing posterior elongation are sparsely documented.

Results: Using precisely staged larvae of the crustacean, , we systematically examine cell division patterns and morphometric changes associated with posterior elongation during segmentation.

Artemisinin is an endoperoxide sesquiterpene lactone from Artemisia annua L with multiple beneficial effects, including anti-inflammation, antioxidant, and vascular protection. Recent studies have found that inflammation along with autophagy deficiency in macrophages is the possible reason for foam cell accumulation in the intima, which leads to atherosclerotic plaque formation. The primary aims of this study were to explore the inhibiting effect of artemisinin on atherosclerosis in high-fat diet-fed ApoE mice and investigate the probable mechanism.

Ovarian lymphoma, whether a primary or secondary condition, is very rare. Little is known about its genetic aberrations. Here, we reviewed the clinical, morphological and immunohistochemical characteristics of nine ovarian diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) cases and performed fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) analysis to detect MYC, BCL2 and BCL6 translocations.

Autoimmune haemolytic anaemia (AIHA) is a kind of autoimmune diseases characterized by autoantibodies which produced and secreted by abnormal activated B lymphocytes directed against red blood cells (RBC). Study reveals that about 50% AIHA mainly occurs secondary to lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD) and autoimmune diseases. In this study, we aim to explore the characteristics of patients with AIHA secondary to LPD.

The mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU) is the critical protein of the inner mitochondrial membrane that is the primary mediator for calcium uptake into the mitochondrial matrix. Herein we built the optimal homology model of human MCU which was refined through all-atom molecular dynamics simulation. Then, the binding mode of known inhibitor was predicted through molecular docking method, along with molecular dynamics simulation and binding free energy calculation to verify the docking result and stability of the protein-inhibitor complex.

Background: Magnetic resonance hysterosalpingography (MR-HSG) is a promising technique in the work-up of female infertility. Few existing MR-HSG studies focus on the comparison between MR-HSG with gold standard examination.

Purpose: To compare the diagnostic value of MR-HSG with conventional HSG in patients receiving both exams in one day.

Introduction: Thyroid carcinoma accounts for a large proportion of endocrine neoplasia, and the relationship between inflammation and thyroid cancer has been previously validated. IL-1α (Interleukin 1 alpha) and IL-1β (Interleukin 1 beta), encoded by IL1A and IL1B, respectively, are implicated in numerous inflammatory responses and in tumor progression. The objective of this research was to assess the association of genetic polymorphisms of IL1A and IL1B with the risk of thyroid cancer in a Chinese Han population.
