Objective: This study aimed to analyze the efficacy of different doses and forms of corticosteroids in the treatment of postinfectious olfactory dysfunction and to specify the factors related to the curative effects.
Methods: The medical records of patients diagnosed with postinfectious olfactory dysfunction from January 2018 to May 2019 were reviewed. All patients received different doses of oral corticosteroids for 12 days or inhaled corticosteroids for 1 month.
Objectives: To explore therapeutic effects of conditioned medium from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) on nasal mucosa radiation damage both in vivo and in vitro.
Results: The mucus cilia clearance time (7 and 30 days), degree of mucosal edema (7, 30, 90 and 180 days), cilia coverage (180 days) of concentrated conditioned medium group improved compared with radiotherapy control group. The proliferation and migration abilities of irradiated and non-irradiated nasal epithelial cells significantly increased after culture in bronchial epithelial cell growth medium (BEGM) containing 10% conditioned medium of hUC-MSCs compared to cells cultured in BEGM alone.
This study was designed to investigate the effects of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) transgenic mesenchymal stem cells (HGF-MSCs) on wound healing in the sinonasal mucosa and nasal epithelial cells (NECs). We also sought to determine whether HGF-MSCs and MSCs can migrate into the injured mucosa and differentiate into ciliated cells. Human HGF-overexpressing umbilical cord MSCs (hHGF-UCMSCs) were established, and upregulation of hHGF expression was confirmed by real-time PCR (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA).

Sinonasal Rosai-Dorfman disease (S-RDD) is a rare form of RDD limited to the sinonasal cavity. Multipatient studies of Chinese S-RDD and documentation of its clinical spectrum are rare. This study aimed to identify the clinical profiles of Chinese S-RDD.

The aim of this study was to analyze the outcomes of vocal process granulomas treated with surgery and proton pump inhibitors and to specify related factors of recurrence. The medical records of patients with diagnosis of vocal process granuloma between 2000 and 2012 were reviewed. All patients were treated with surgery and proton pump inhibitors for at least 1 month.

We investigated the effect of short hair pin ribonucleic acid (RNA) specific for human telomerase reverse transcriptase messenger RNA on the expression of the proteins c-myc (the transcription factor c-myc is a shortlived nuclear phospho-protein involved in cell proliferation and differentiation, belongs to the myc family), proliferating cell nuclear antigen and Caspase-3 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells.
Methods: Short hairpin RNA expression vectors targeting the messenger RNA of human telomerase reverse transcriptase were constructed.

Objective: To observe the effect of shRNA by targeting human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) mRNA in the human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) lines and explore the safety of RNAi by targeting hTERT mRNA in clinical application.
Methods: According to the strategy of RNAi, which determined the specific base sequences to design shRNA plasmid. Plasmid shRNA1 involved in fluorescein gene and homologous to hTERT were designed.
